Brave, imaginative spaces grounded in

nature, history, and human connection.

I love working with historic buildings and creating something brave and new.

There is endless opportunity in old spaces, unusual structures, and aged materials — places layered with history, character, and untapped potential. This is where imagination and creativity come alive for me.

My work is deeply informed by the principles of biophilic design and sustainability: embracing the natural world and weaving it thoughtfully into the spaces we live, gather, and work within. Light, greenery, texture, airflow, materiality, and connection to place all play a role in shaping environments that feel both inspiring and deeply human.

I create spaces that are playful, grounding, functional, and designed to be lived in fully.

From a single corner to an entire home or hospitality space, I love choreographing the relationship between people and place — enriching a vision while laying the foundations for something enduring.

I’m driven by challenge and drawn toward projects that resist the expected. I have little interest in the vanilla. Sometimes the outcome is bold, sometimes subtle, but always intentional.

As a traditional architect working alongside outstanding technicians and engineers, I develop architecture that is practical, enduring, and deeply considered.

No two projects are the same, and neither is the process.
Sometimes it begins with a conversation. Sometimes a sketch, a concept, or a larger architectural collaboration. The services I offer are flexible and shaped around your vision and dreams.

At the heart of it all is a genuine love for helping people realise spaces that feel meaningful, beautiful, and uniquely their own.

We have worked with Tessa Kingsbury for the past 2 ½ years with our renovation of
a church into a bespoke family home.
During this time, we found Tessa to be totally professional, always considering our
specific build requirements and wishes. Our renovation was by no means easy or
normal. We both had specific individual outcomes for our build and Tessa was able
to navigate both of our expectations and create a cohesive and fantastic home
design. Tessa has made the whole design and development process an exciting
journey. Her ability to work in with specialists and council assisted greatly in keeping
the project moving.
We have no hesitation in recommending Tessa and would absolutely seek her out for
any future architectural needs.
